J.I.C. Adapters
JIC fittings and adapters are often used in hydraulic systems. JIC adapters are used to connect hydraulic hose assemblies to components such as pumps, cylinders, valves and tube assemblies. JIC Adapters can also bridge different connection types or allow for proper alignment.The Joint Industrial Committee or JIC male has straight threads and a 37 degree flare seat. The JIC female has straight threads and a 37° flare seat. The seal is made on the 37° flare seat. Like other kinds of flared connections, the seal is achieved through metal-to-metal contact on the surface of the fitting cone and the inside surface of the flared tubing.
