Easy to Cut and Install
The large, flexible sheets can be handled without difficulty for die or hand cutting of gaskets. Handling will not affect their operating performance. And installation is simple, no matter what type of flange you're sealing.

Seals Even the Roughest Flange
Due to its exceptional conformability, Gore-Tex GR sheet gasketing will seal flanges that are rough or damaged, without much increase in sealing stress. The effective service life of these flanges is increased tremendously.

Resists All Common Chemicals
Gore-Tex GR sheet gaskets can be used in all types of chemical service applications over the entire 0-14 pH range, except for molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. Reduce your stocking requirements and inventory costs by using one gasket for all applications under 600°(315°C).

Resists Creep and Cold Flow
Due to the unique, highly fibrous structure of Gore-Tex GR sheet gasketing, it is highly resistant to creep. It contains no binders or fillers, so its mechanical properties are always consistent. Usually, no special torquing procedure is required. And, since overcompression is virtually impossible, you don't have to worry about too much torque. Use on any application up to 3,000 psig (200 bar) (1,800,000 P x T factor).

Gore-Tex expanded PTFE makes the difference. Its highly fibrillated structure contains millions of fibrils that give unique characteristics to all gasketing products made from Gore-Tex expanded PTFE. On compression, the fibrils lock together, forming a solid homogeneous mass that is impervious to gases and liquids. Gore-Tex expanded PTFE is flexible and stable under high temperatures, and maintains its high tensile strength. It is incredibly resistant to creep, providing an extremely tight seal for controlling fugitive emissions. No other form of PTFE is made this way or exhibits these characteristics.
