The original form-in-place gasketing material, your most cost effective alternative to sheet gasketing for all large equipment flanges, Gore-Tex joint sealant can be used practically everywhere, from large, complex, or damaged flanges to fragile equipment and glass-lined vessels. It's easy to install, even on vertical
surfaces. And, since there's no waste, Gore-Tex joint sealant usually costs less, on a per gasket basis, than any other gasketing alternative.
Outstanding Versatility
Gore-Tex joint sealant withstands temperatures from -450° to +600°F (-268° to +315°C), seals
internal pressures from full vacuum to 3,000 psi (200 bar) with a tested P x T factor
of 1.8 million, and is unaffected by most chemicals (except molten alkali metals and
elemental fluorine). It's ideal for cryogenic applications and is FDA/USDA suitable for
use in food processing and pharmaceutical industries. You can use it just about anywhere. And
it lasts indefinitely, when used within its operating parameters.
Eliminate Retorquing
When properly installed, Gore-Tex joint sealant becomes a very thin, strong gasket with the
ability to withstand high compressive loads. This, together with its resistance to creep and
cold flow, helps Gore-Tex joint sealant maintain a very high level of tightness over time.
In most applications, after the initial installation, you'll never have to retorque,
even at temperatures up to 600°F.
Make Your Installation and Replacement Easier
Simply remove the backing and apply Gore-Tex joint sealant to the sealing surface inside
all bolt holes. The adhesive will hold it in place, even on slightly wet or oily surfaces.
Overlap the ends at a bolt hole, reassemble, and torque. During routine maintenance, flanges
will always part freely, and the Gore-Tex joint sealant will be easy to remove, so you'll
save considerably on maintenance time.

Save Money and Time
On a per gasket basis, Gore-Tex joint sealant usually costs less than other gasketing materials,
particularly since there is no scrap or waste. Since there is no fitting or precutting,
all you need to do is press it in place, so you'll save on installation time, too. You'll also
see savings in your storeroom gasketing inventories. A stock of three or four widths of Gore-Tex
joint sealant will satisfy practically all your plants needs, replacing most of that sheet
gasketing stock.
Ideal for Fragile Assemblies
Since Gore-Tex joint sealant has a very low stress to seal requirement, it makes an effective
gasket on delicate assemblies such as glass, plastic, FRP, ceramic or graphite.
Gore-Tex expanded PTFE makes the difference. Its highly fibrillated structure contains millions
of fibrils that give unique characteristics to all gasketing products made from Gore-Tex expanded
PTFE. On compression, the fibrils lock together, forming a solid homogeneous mass that is impervious
to gases and liquids. Gore-Tex expanded PTFE is flexible and stable under high temperatures,
and maintains its high tensile strength. It is incredibly resistant to creep, providing
an extremely tight seal for controlling fugitive emissions. No other form of PTFE is made
this way or exhibits these characteristics.
